Support at Home · Contributions

Participant contributions,
invoiced automatically.

Care Nexus applies the right contribution to every service, tracks each participant's caps and sends their invoice automatically, while the government share is claimed from their budget.

Contributions

Every rate, from its start date.

By service type

Clinical supports, independence and everyday living each carry their own contribution category.

By pension status

See how each service splits between participant and government for full pensioners, part pensioners and self-funded participants.

Program changes on the day

Category changes take effect from their start date, such as personal care becoming fully government funded from 1 October 2026.

Invoices sent automatically

Each participant's invoice is generated at their individual rate and sent to them for payment.

Caps tracked

Progress towards the lifetime cap and the grandfathered fortnightly cap is tracked. Once a cap is reached, the contribution stops.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Does Care Nexus work out each participant's contribution rate?

Services Australia assesses each participant's rate. Care Nexus applies it to every service and invoices the participant automatically.

What happens when a participant reaches the lifetime cap?

Their contribution stops and the full price is claimed from the government.

Is personal care still charged a contribution?

From 1 October 2026 personal care is fully government funded, and Care Nexus applies that change from its start date.
